Maynard Keenan VS. Layne Stanley...who is the better singer???

Layne ftw, rest his soul. I'm not saying Maynard sucks; in fact, I rather like his vocals. But to me, he doesn't have a signature voice, so he doesn't really add any twang or grit to the sound of the music. It's like comparing grits from one Denny's to the next Denny's when the voice isn't signature. But when you get a voice as painful and melodically influenced as Layne's, it's like comparing momma's grits to Denny's grits. Sure, the Denny's around the corner has some great grits...but they're still Denny's grits.

I like and repsect em' both as vocalists (R.I.P Layne), but I find Keenan the more diverse of the two, so he gets my vote.
