well just a few mins ago my dog was running and hurt his leg, i went to check on it and i petted him calm but then i slowly went to check his leg and he bit me leaving 5 cuts on my hand all drew blood, he's a 7 month lab mix and has not done anything like this before. is this normal, if not what should i do?
ok, thanks for the replies, honestly it only happen real quick right when he yeps, then runs under a chair. but then he's fine.
i think it mite be because his legs have little strenth, he's a rescue that was in the pound for about 6 months
no. i am not a vet. but i have raised 2 other dogs and they never reacted like this. and not a professional. when my dogs are in pain i look for simple things i can use to help them. considering the fact he was running i was looking to check and make sure nothing got bent in a odd direction which is pretty common.

i do not blame the dog one bit. but what if this had happened in public and someones toddler ran up to him? and tbh when he bit me i was not angry at all i just started petting him behind the ears and tried to calm him down.
