Hi:
Zantac 300 mg. per day really works for me. I've been taking 150 mg bid, one for morning and another for evening. :)

However, after having been on for about three months, efficacy of Zantac 300mg starting to wear-off, .... not like when I began taking it. I often feel 'acid-reflux' particularly after eating 'meat' that makes me quite uncomfortable. :(

Is it safe and rightful for me to take more than 300 mg.? If can, I plan to add another 75 mg. to the current dosage, 300 mg.

Your imputs would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Amanda:

I have heard of people taking up to 300 mg twice per day, but best to check with your doctor before you increase the dose. The maximum dose I took was 150 mg twice per day like you, and it worked well. It is important, however, to work on changing our diets and eliminating trigger fooRAB while we are on these medications.

My mistake when I was first diagnosed was to only rely on medication to eliminate symptoms while I continued to drink coffee, wine and other offending fooRAB.

All these medications have potential side effects, particularly at higher doses. Now I only take medication sporadically and as a rescue remedy. I have managed to control the symptoms with diet changes and natural remedies.
