Does anybody know what is the largest Gb size SD Card the T|X can operate with? I know the Palm website says 2Gb, but has anybody tried others and had it work? Thanks in advance!
I've seen reports of 4GB cards working but this varies depending upon the manufacturer of the card. Kingston cards seem to be the best at working but my suggestion to you would be to not go beyond the suggestions of Palm. You set yourself up for dissappointment etc and Palm won't support it. Also, typically two 2GB cards may be cheaper then a single 4GB card but most user's will not be able to testify to the working of a 4GB because they won't go there......simply because it's not supported.
I have used a 4 GB card by Transcend for about a year now with no problems at all. I have put Wikipedia, a 1.8 GB file, as well as five 2-hour movies (they are deleted after viewing to make room for more) and also multiple backups via NVBackup, at all times. I wouldn't want my TX without all this capability now that I have it.
I used a 4GB card in mine, it worked in that the TX could use it to store files, etc, but it gave odd results such as being slow to access the apps menus. I've got a 2GB now and haven't had any problems with it.
I originally tried a TopRam 4GB card and it worked but it was slow even though rated at 150x just like my Transcend card. It would also crash the TX when deleting a large 350MB file.
Many others have reported poor results with many 4GB cards but I have only heard good results with the 4GB 150x Transcend card. It is very fast at accessing files, deleting file and for instance, fast forwarding and fast reversing a movie in TCPMP.
