Yes, to a limited degree, only being really familiar with Caught and The Reckless Moment - both fine examples of 'poetic' American film noir. As is usually the way, his foreign language stuff seems to be generally harder to see, although I am ashamed to say I've got a copy of Liebelei and have never got round to watching it.
