two trains are 2 miles apart and are traveling towards each other on the same track, each train going 30 mph. A fly going 60 mph starts at the nose of one train, flies toward the other train, and upon reaching the second train immediately turns around and flies back towatd the first train. The fly buzzes back and fourth until all three collide. How far did the fly fly?

4 miles. 1 mile per minute=fly 0.5 miles per minute=train. takes 4 minutes for trains to collide so the fly will have traveled 4 miles

The trains cover the 2 miles at a closing rate of 60 miles per hour, so it takes 1/30 of an hour to collide. That's how long the fly is airborne at 60 miles per hour, so the fly flies exactly 60/30 miles, or 2 miles before it meets is locomotive destiny.
