So i'm not real good at doing pre-calculus problems.. and i need help. My teacher goes over how to do problems like these, but he goes over easy problems, then turns around and gives us an assignment with hard problems that are almost like, but kinda different from, the problems he showed us how to do.. so if for any of the following problems, you can help me solve them, that'd be great.. thanks for any help you can provide.

For this one, i need to evaluate w/o a calculator
- e^ln(x+2y) (e raised to the natural log of x+2y)

then for this one, i need to translate the logarithmic statement into an equivalent exponential one.
- log(base 3) 9^x^2 ( log with base 3 of 9 raise to x squared)

then solve for x for this prob.
- 725e^-4x = 1500

then there's this story prob
- An insect colony grows exponentially from 200 to 2,00 in 3 months. How long will it take for the insect population to reach 50,000?

then for this one, i just need to verify my answer is correct, if not, please correct it.
- prob = at what annual interest rate should you invest your money if you want to double it in 6 years?
Solution= 1000=500(1+r)^6
/ 500 /500
= 2(1=r)^6 = log 2 = log (1+r)^6
= (log 2 / log (1+r)^6) = (log (1+r)^6 / log (1+r)^6
= (log 2 / 6log 1+r) = r (final solution??)

Thanks for any help you can provide!! =)
