Matching a sub to an amp?

I've never had a system before, and have a few quick questions. I'm just looking to have one powerful 15. So first off, lemme ask this. I'm looking at this sub here: RE Audio MX15D2

http://www.audiosavings.com/products/15-Inch-Car-Subwoofer/NEW-RE-AUDIO-MX15D2-15-3000w-CAR-SUBWOOFER-SUB-MX15-D2/MX15D2.aspx

Mkay, it looks massive and heavy duty and what not, but is it really worth $400? Price isn't really an issue to me, I'm just seeking the best quality. And this looks perfect, but just need opinions, ya know?

If I do decide to go with that I was looking to match it with this amp: Hifonics HFi1500D

http://www.audiosavings.com/products/Car-Amplifiers/NEW-HIFONICS-HFI1500D-1500-WATT-MONO-CLASS-D-AMPLIFIER/HFI1500D.aspx

It'll work, yeah? If I set it to 1 ohms, will both the amp and sub be able to continuously run 1500w RMS? Also, there's a sub similar to the one I posted, only difference is it's dual 1 ohms instead of dual 2 ohms. Same brand and everything else. Does the ohms of the speaker and the ohms of the amp matter to each other? Which should I go with?

Thanks in advance for any help.
