Masculinity Topics in the Social Sciences?

I am first year student in sociology and the time has come up to start thinking about essay topics. The subject I really want to learn more about and right about is masculinity. The problem is I am having trouble thinking of what particular topic within masculinities I should address. In other words I am having trouble thinking of a question I would want answered and argue about.

I know there is lots of studies about the idea of masculinity and how it contributes to violence in our society... that's a possibility. What other topics within 'masculinities' is there that would be suitable/concrete for an academic level sociological essay?

If you can add your academic certifications (B.A, Ph.D, first year, etc.) that would be great as well.
@ the grappler... first you really need to calm the fuck down and read my question carefully. I only said that there are a numerous amount of studies to suggest this - which there are. This would be why it could potentially be a topic for the essay. I *never* said anything about agreeing with it or it being my opinion as I do not know much at all about the subject; that would be up to the essay and other people's finding that I read.

Thanks for everyone else who answered.
