Martin Fields screen protector on the E50

So I received my Martin Fields screen protector for my E50 today. I was surprised at how soon it arrived since it was only regular mail. They shipped it out on the 13th and I received it on the 18th. Pretty much 3 days if you minus the weekend plus it came from Hong Kong.

Anyway it comes with 2 pieces. One for the main screen and a smaller piece for the camera lens. Coverage of the main screen is not 100%. If I would say more like 99% but definitely better than the factory screen protector.
Clarity is brilliant unlike other screen protectors. Feels like there is nothing on it cause it even leaves your fingerprints on it as if you were touching the screen without the screen protector on.

I wish the instructions to put it on were a little better though because I spent more than one hour to get it on. First off I thought the side with the sticker was the one that goes on the screen so I peel it off, which is quite tough and throw the other piece aside. Then I laid it on the screen but it did not stick.
Duh! The side I threw aside was the correct on but you could not tell because the adhesive is pretty weak and they all feel the same. Anyway by now it?s on the floor and has dirt on it. So I had to wash it under hot water, dry it with a hair dryer and use scotch tape to clean the crap off it. Laid it on the screen and it sat perfectly with no air bubbles. But there was still crap on the adhesive side so I peeled it off again, washed it and scotch taped it once more. Took me a few peels and cleaning to get it almost perfect without dirt on it.

One corners does not stick properly to the screen as much since that was the corner I used to peel it off the screen the first time it went on perfect. It wasn?t an easy job peeling it off once it was already on so I think my fingernails kinda nicked it a bit. It just looks like there is an air bubble under it about 3/4 the size of the silver tab on the stock screen protector. The three other times I peeled it off, I used 2 pieces of scotch tape on both sides to pull it up.

But what?s done is done and it looks really good. I may need to order another piece because I like perfection.

well it seems that any problems you were having were by incorrect installation. I have used martin fields on my blackberry, mda, k750 and my e61 and i will not use any other. they are simply incredible. they make the screen look amazing and are very difficulet to scratch up even when tossed around in the pocket. its like a brand new screen all the time.

the part about which piece is film ands which is the protector is an easy mistake. the thing u have to realize is that the flimsy part is the screen and the rigid part is the protector. the protector is fairly solid.

to clean mine i usually lay it down on a piece of packing tape and just remove it slowly to get any hair or dust that may have acumulated on the edges over time. then im good to go like brand new. martin fields highly recommended.

definitely recommend it. instructions should be better but hey now at least someone will learn by my mistakes.
it sure makes the screen look like new.

i know it would. camera died after i took pics of the packaging. i promise i will post some tomorrow.
working at the moment so i'm a little lazy. to go charge the camera.

I had one back when I had my SE s710a... and yes, it was absolutely incredible

btw I have a question for you (a little OT, please forgive me)... how was it pacakged when you got it? When I received mine it was sent via regular postal mail (which is fine) but basically the "packaging" was the screen protector inside a folded sheet of paper with the marti fields stuff on it. It looked almost like it was printed at one of those mass printers you'd find in Asia (not sure if you have experience here).

Was it the same for you?

Find a local art/hobby/hardware store and buy yourself some Xacto #11 or #2 blades. Besides all the normal (and not so normal ) uses, they're perfect for peeling off screen protector laminates, and you can "hang" the protector on the tip of the blade while laying it down on the cell phone. This keeps your fingers out of the way and makes the job super easy. I also use micro-tip tweezers to help align the protector, but only because I have them around (from Gundam model building ).

sorry about shot number 2 and 3. macro mode seems to be focusing on the blinds reflected on the screen instead of the phone. thats how glossy the screen protector is.

pic # 4,5,6 and 9 kinda shows you the top left corner that i damages by peeling multiple times to clean and the initial peel. the top right corner looks messed up too but that cause there's a piece of scotch tape adhesive stuck on it and i didn't want to damage it more by trying to peel it off too.

the edges look a little warped i'm guessing cause i ran it under hot water a couple of time and pointed the hair dryer at it pretty close. the edges were fine on the first application when it was all dirty from being on the floor.

@ paul34......the packaging is in pic #1 and it came in a regular white envelope with a bunch of stamps on it.

make sure you learn from my mistakes and not drop it on the floor and have to run it under hot water and drying with the hair dryer and yours will look perfect.

i may get another one just for the sake of perfection.

Now wait a minnut here Elisha; in the first SMS Lisa says she loves you. Then in the next one she says 'Woof'. Now out here where I live, woof is.... uhm, let's just say it's the gay bears who use it (I'll leave you to investigate on your own).

I guess there was a Boy Named Sue, so a Lisa could exist as well...
