His father is thinking about putting him in Krav Maga, but I'd like to see him in MORE of a defensive art like Aikido. There is no middle ground in the conversation at this point, but I do not know of any art that would be a compromise for us both. I don't want him to be the attacked or the attacker, but I'd like him to know how to defend himself without severely hurting others. The schools in this country are getting stupid (a football player was charged with assault for throwing a footbal at another player's leg...I meant WTH!!!). I know that no matter what he does he will end up getting in trouble, but both his father and I would like to know that he tried to protect himself or others with honor.
