I'm meant to 'explore mark making in colour with a variety of media'. Is that like making mark with paints, pastels, crayons etc?
Examples please?

'Mark making' is making a mark on a page. Such as a drawing or a painting. A 'variety of media' means that you should use different things such as pastels, paints, pencils, watercolor paints or pencils. And a 'variety of colors' pretty self-explanatory.
