Yep and definately without Germaine Greer.
I didn't say it was an excuse, I just said it's silly making a big deal about it in films that rely on action sequences and SFX.
Why in all teen comedies like American Pie type humour does there
have to be a topless woman full frontal shot quite often by a small secondary character or an extra?
Women are used assex objects that have to show skin to be part of the film. Why?
Why in a horror film do there always have to be a total airhead girl with the IQ of a daffodil that is too stupd to think there is someone in th house with an axe. I wont run away I'll wait in the house as he wont find me?
Women are obviously
weak and
need a guy to tell them they are in danger and save them because tehy can't work out how to use their own basic self preservation skills. Probably as that part of their brain is thinking about shoes and how cute ducklings are.
Why in so many romantic comedies are women so "
needy" of a man to
complete their lives. Boo hoo hoo I'm nearly 30 and I'm not married or got a bf.
I can go on with more.
Excluding horror which is fantasy, in the other sorts of films that are supposed to be based somewhat in reality and the real world, women are being portrayed really badly. Successful women are often hard faced bitches, who have to be that way to compete in a mans world. Yes that does happen but not in every case.
These are the kinRAB of things that should be questioned and debated. Not if a person is badly used in a throwaway hot of the moment movie like Transformers. I've only seen the first one. That was about 2 months ago and not only can I barely remember Megan Fox and what she did in the film. I couldn't tell you much more about the main male lead in the film either. They both ran about a lot, both got dirty from rolling about trying not to get killed. They kissed. That's about it. Both characters are disposable in the memory. The rest and majority of the film was various robots, chases, explosions etc.
I haven't seen Die Hard in about 4 or 5 years and I remember Holly Mclaine in the Die Hard film more than I do Megan Fox in Transformers and she was in that film far more than Holly's character was in Die Hard.
The Holly character had less to do in the film but it was more integral to the plot so you remember it more.
