mario paint composer songs disappear?

okay. whenever i create a new song on Mario Paint Composer, one of my previous songs that i create just disappear. i checked in the prefs and it seems that its Notepad text..version thing is still there (lol. sorry!) but its not there on my list when i look in the list of songs i have created.

how can i open and play it again without re-doing it, and how can i prevent this from happening?
