Mario and Sonic at the Winter Olympic Games help?

When I'm doing tricks during Skiing or snowboardind, the ones the require moving the WiiMote are a 3-trick combo. when one of them is not completed before i hit the ground -- i fail. is their anyway to cancel a trick or any trick advice. Or just any usefull advise. Like which characters make the best team or which are good for certain events? thanks. remember, 10 points
