Marine wives or married military only because I keep finding unsure answers.?

First, please tell me are you married, how long ago was your hubby in boot camp and all of that first off.

Second thank you SOOOO much for answering here because I can't seem to get a straight answer so I'm just looking for someone that has been there done that kind of thing and preferrably recently as I'm told its been changing a lot?

So now for the question...

While my husband is in boot camp, he will be recieving BAH, his base salary separation allowance...and...a shipping bonus. This much I've confirmed.

My question to you all is how exactly does the wife access the money while her husband is in boot camp? There are some things he has asked me to do while he is gone and I set up a bank account and everything because I read somewhere that they direct deposit the BAH and the SSA into the spouses account but now I'm hearing that that's not the way of it and AHHH!!! lol it's such a headache!

I've already written down my account/routing number in his bible that he is taking with him just in case but even his recruiters are all giving different answers. Its so odd! lol. So any of you wives who have gone through this already, please let me know how exactly this worked for you as I'm sure this isn't an uncommon thing. As much information as possible would be AWESOME!
BTW he is in the Marines and he's off to boot camp next month.


Oh. And as an added bonus, I'm just curious did they (your husbands) come back wayyy different? I'm so curious how all of this will be. He is already changing and for the better too! I'm so proud :o)
 
any marine can answer this for you..

marine recruits in boot camp do not receive their money until the end..so you can not do anything..he will get paid all at once when he is done.
 
The salary your hubby earns will be put into a Marine Credit Union bank account.

He won't have access to any signing bonuses until after he's completed all his training, and even then it can be a month or two before they are able to process all the paperwork and deposit the money into his Credit Union account.
