well im going to boot camp at the end of this year at MCRD San Diego and i just wanted to know how it feels like when you first get there and how its like when you get out and com back here? do you feel different towards everything back in your hometown? because my bestfriend just came back from boot camp and now he dont like it here he started missin boot camp.
and are the drill instructors really scary as they say?like once actually one starts coming at you?

When you first arrive at MCRD, it'll seem easy since you will be in processing. Don't let the instructors during processing fool you. Once you meet your DIs, all hell breaks loose! It'll definitely be a life changing experience for you. Boot camp's main purpose is to strip you of any civilian qualities that you have and instill the Corps values into you. You'll feel confident and ready to take on anything after boot camp. You'll be stronger not just physically but mentally as well. Life in boot camp is different since every recruit is striving and helping each other out to accomplish one goal... to earn the title "US Marine". Once you return from boot, you'll feel that your old friends are "nasty". You'll see what I'm talking about once you graduate. Good luck and Semper Fi. Hooorah!!

ADDED: It's the Espirit de Corps that sets us apart from everyone else. You'll belong to a brotherhood that you can't explain just in words.
