I am currently filling out paperwork to be selected to go to OCS to be commissioned as a Marine Corp officer. The application requires an 100-150 word essay telling the selection board why I desire to become a marine corp officer. I have a few things on mind to mention but need more material. So the question is...what kind of things should i mention or emphasis and what should i absolutly avoid!! I already plan on talking about continuing a millitary tradition since my grandfathers were in military and my father was a marine also....but what else? I feel as though i should avoid the patriotic stuff and focus on me and who i am.
