Manga Drawing Frustration – How to Alleviate?

I have been interested in Manga & Anime for many years particularly after playing old games like Psychic Force. I took the plunge last summer and got a book on how to draw manga as well as using websites like Manga University and Mark Crilley’s youtube videos.

Despite these excellent resources I still feel I’m just copying drawings (especially from the manga drawing guide) and this is leading to a growing sense of frustration. How can I move beyond copying pictures? How do I develop my own drawing skills and style? I haven’t drawn before and whilst using the manga book I am learning about human anatomy, etc using guidelines to construct the drawings.

I do have a lot of other things I have to do, so I can’t spend a lot of time drawing at the moment. Any advice on what I can do to alleviate this frustration will be greatly received. I hope one day I can at least call myself an average drawer :) Thanks
