making images from game dvds?

if i let my friend make an image of my game dvd and he uses a crack to play the game on his computer will that affect my game in anyway in terms of online registration or patching or anything like that?
 
Well it is hard to tell, but to be on the safe side why don't you register your original game in the website of the game developer... so that you can continue to receive updates and patches.
