Majoring in comm media? Confused about it.. help?

i am majoring in comm media, i want to do some sort of broadcasting or writing with sports but i heard its a bad major and that it is hard to get jobs with it... any insight?

also, what all can i do with a bachelors in comm media? I plan to get my masters too and eventually my phd, but right now just answer what i can do with my bachelors and masters
