Major News Sources are just Fluff! Why do we read this stuff?

Why are the major news outlets covering the President's comment regarding Kanye West instead of the economy, health care, or the war? We are sad group of people if that is what expect to see as the headline. Mr. Obama's comment doesn't change the world for better or worse... Drop it. Let's move on to something important.
 
Because these types of news draws attention. Attention creates curiosity, which promotes media coverage, regardless what happens to our current crisis.
