Major current events of Late 2010?

I was wondering if someone might list some major events that have occured between now and this past September, My history exam requires us to relate a reading (which we will not know beforehand) to a current event, and at the moment, I can only think of North Korea/South Korea, and the cholera outbreak in Haiti.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
