Mafia 2? Do saved cars appear in all Chapters?

Like if you get a nice car, save it in chapter 12, will it be present in the previous chapters? Will the game recognize this and allow all the cars you save to be available during any chapter? Because I have gotten most of the great cars on chapter 15 (last chapter) but I hate free roaming on that level cuz of the dull weather, so I go to chapter 9 and they are gone. Is was wondering if there is an option/way around this?!!?? Thank you!
 
dude! this is exactly what i am trying to do with portal 2 (both are source engine, so should be same cvar for any source game). can you (or anyone else) please help me??

i know this is a dead, single post thread, but it is EXACTLY the info i need and the damn steam forum is making me wait an age before some moderator "activates" my account..
