Macbook pro13 slow with photoshop, indesign, and word?

So I was planning on getting a MacBook pro 13inch. The cheaper of the 2. And I want to use I for basic school needs as well as designing. I'm planning on putting word, powerpoint, photoshop, indesign, and illustrator. I was wondering if all that would slow the laptop down? Or maybe I should get the extra $300? Which would be a hugh stretch for my dad.

It will run fine, but the 13" screen is going to be way too small to design on. I use a 15" MBP professionally for design work, and even with the 15" I often find myself squinting and struggling with desktop "real estate".
