Mac OS X PHP file permisions denied?

Greetings,

I'm running XAMPP 1.7.3 on Mac OSX 10.4.11.

When I run my code the following error appears:

Warning: fopen(count.txt) [function.fopen]: failed to open stream: Permission denied in /Applications/XAMPP/xamppfiles/htdocs/xampp/mywork/task.php on line 42

How can I solve this?
