Mac isn't recognizing my blackberry bold?

when I plug my blackberry bold 9700 into my macbook via usb cord it charges and the desktop manager opens, however, it cannot see the media card I have in my blackberry and asks me to insert a media card, and when I click macintosh HD my blackberry is not listed under devices.

I'm trying to put pictures from my computer onto my blackberry, is there any way to do this? does anyone know how to fix this problem?
