Hi, I want to upgrade vista to my computer, but there's a few things I have in mind. . .

Details:
I'm currently using Windows XP through bootcamp (using half the harddrive space). I want to replace windows xp with windows vista but do NOT want to replace the Macintosh by accident by installing windows vista. Also keeping all the files/programs on my windows xp.

Will there be any problems with trying to upgrade to windows vista on bootcamp?
Should I put the disk in (while logged into windows xp or mac? o.o) and just follow the procedure?
Should I just delete the partition the windows xp is using and make a new one with windows Vista?
or
is there a better/safer method? (Just incase there is)
(saving all files/programs (If that's even possible))

Can I just upgrade the windows xp to vista? Not having to mess with the partitions and safely and easily transferring all files/programs to the vista. I don't know alot about this stuff, please help.
