Not to be cocky, but I am a pretty good dancer. I have anticipated doing my first Solo this year.
Firstly, I can't decide between Lyrical, Jazz, or Music Theater.
Here is a little about my dancing:
I am pretty flexible ( my leaps and jumps are my strengths )
I have very sassy body movement, and my facials... well i try to go all out.
My turns: I have about 10 fouettes when I'm having a good turning day. Minimum, maybe 5.
I can add a decent amount of emotion to a dance.
So, lyrical dances sound soooo much fun. I love the idea of being to express yourself like that. But MT, and Jazz, I think I am just better at. You know?
Secondly, what songs would you recommed?
For lyrical: A really emotional song, with pauses, and maybe even tells a story.
For Jazz: Really sassy, something you can put alot of technique into.
For MT, something fun. Upbeat, tells something about ME.
So, basically; Jazz, Lyrical, Musical Theater??
And: What songs do you suggest?
Please keep in mind that I am 13 years old and I want it to be age appropriate. And, please don't think I am trying to be cocky in ANY way. I was just trying to give you a good idea on what may or may not be good for me. Sorry for such a long post..
