lymph nodes

In October, my fiance's groin lymph nodes swelled, got infected (they think) and died. He had 2 removed and biopsied with negative results. Shortly after that, more nodes in the same area followed suit and were removed. Again, negative biopsy results. He went to a CDC doctor who ran a whole gambit of tests and found NOTHING except mononeucleosis. He finally recovered enough to return to normal activities.

Well, guess what. We are back in the same boat. Swollen nodes AND a swollen foot on the same side.

Blood count is normal (white cells weren't elevated, so no infection . . . ?). Cholesterol is good. Blood pressure is fine.

We thought it might be the antibiotic causing his foot to swell (one of the side effects is swollen tendons) but doc thinks maybe gout.

Anyway, the possibility of lymphoma is swirling around in everyone's heads right now. I am holding out that it is NOT lymphoma, mainly due to the biopsy results (twice) and the white blood count being normal.

Is anyone out there able to shed some light on this? He is trying to go to a second CDC doctor and has talked about going to an oncologist. Any help would be appreciated!

arrrgh! I can't find anything that says whether or not all cancers present with low white cell counts!!!!!

Please, at least answer this: do ALL cancer indicators include low counts or just some cancers?????
