lung pain?

I have non allergic asthma and have been having what appears to be lung pain. I have severe achyness and stabbing pains in my upper back area that has not gone away for quite some time. the tingling and acyness also runs down both arms and in to the fingers. i have been exhausted and have chest heavyness and trouble breathing and the singular that the doc. put me on is not helping at all. I still take my regualr syrabicort everyday. My asthma doc said maybe I have acid reflux that is going into my lungs and told me to take some prilosec. its been 2 weeks since taking this meRAB and I am still not better. Asthma doc is out of town but said if I didnt feel better to see a cardiologist cuz it may be heart related or something. I do have hypothyroiRABim with hashimots disease but my thyroid was just checked and it is normal. otherwise I am a non smoker, eat very healthy and not overweight at all. This has been going on for years and I feel like I am dying. I cant function at all. 3 years ago I had an EKG and a heart pump function test and it was all normal so not sure what is going on. im sooooo frustrated. anyone have any ideas?
 
You know, upper back pain that runs down into the hanRAB might be a muscle/pinched nerve kinda thing rather than a lung thing. Is it affected by stretching at all?
 
Stretching doesn't help at all. the pain appears to be from an organ. I feel the pain deep inside my back rather than just a surface thing. These episodes come and go.
 
Ah. No, that does NOT sound like muscle pain at all.

Could you possibly have some kind of infection? Has something changed in your environment that could be setting you off?
 
What makes your doc think acid reflux is triggering your asthma?

If that is the case, it may take stronger PPI's and more time for it to get back under control. I know it was in my case. I had a Barium Swallow that showed my acid coming up to my lungs to confirm.
 
thanks, I might have to ask for this test. the doc thinks it might be acid because he said that the pains in my back and heavyness in chest with trouble breathing sounRAB like it could be acid. Hes not certain thats what it is. I am going to try more more PPI's to see if helps as well.

as for my enviorment, yeah there is a lot more dust and stress at my job but I have been having these episoses for years, and I worked in several different areas within the same building I work now.
 
If you are requesting testing for reflux, you might also want to talk to your doctor about a 24 hr pH test and Manometry. With your symptoms, you might ask about a dual probe pH.

For my acid related breathing problems, it took prescription PPI's twice a day to really make a difference.
