Lump at bend of arm!

I have been under a hematologist just lately for high platelets and high white cells and nothing as yet diagnosed but about 3 weeks ago I noticed a largish (well certainly not pea sized!) lump at the bend of my arm near to where I have blood tests done. Its not painful and is not red or hot and I have been the docs today and they want to do a scan. Anyone any ideas???

thanks for the reply. I don't think you have lymph nodes in that area. I have however got the lymph node up on the other elbow or at least what looks like a lump in the place where the epitrochlear nodes are. The one that i am on about is actually where you bend your arm on the inside bit. Its hard and a swelling type thing. When I put my arm straight it sticks out but like i say, not tender or red. Its a bit of a mystery and i would have thought it was related to the blood tests but it does not hurt at all.
