Hello everyone, I've never posted here before but I have a problem and no health insurance. Where else to turn but the internet?

I'm a recovering opiate addict because I have lots of skeletal problems with my legs. I was on vicodin for a long time and still take it occasionally to ease some of the more major pain. A little less than a year ago I experienced heartburn for the first time after eating myself stupid while on opiates. It was late at night and I woke up mid-sleep with the heart burn. I cant remeraber if it was the morning after or sometime soon after, but I woke up with what felt like a lump in my esophagus down near my sternum when i swallow. It's slightly painful during the day when it's there. It's not there all the time but I almost always notice it at night or early in the morning.

When I take pain pills, I don't ever feel it. That's what I don't understand. Maybe the aspirin takes the swelling down or something? I don't know. If anyone has ever heard of this before, please let me know. I'm really not interested in spending 3 weeks of pay for one procedure that would probably not diagnose me anyway. I will if that's what it comes down to but it seems to be happening more frequently and it's making me nervous.

Thanks for reading.
