lube for v-drive on Mercruiser 350 Mag Tow Sport with Velvet drive tranny?

Motor is a Mercruiser 350 Mag Tow Sport with a velvet drive transmission year model 2005. I understand there might be two different types of gear lube for this v-drive. How can I tell which v-drive I have? The lube is low and seams very clear in color. I would like to change out all the lube for new. I don't think the lube has been changed since new. I am the second owner with no manual or information.
