I have had LPR with a chronic cough for about six years now. I have tried all of the proton pump inhibitors but none have worked. I have just had another endoscopy and have been diagnosed with eosinophilic esophagitis (EE). The level of eosinophils in my esophagus are very high - over 80 per high-powered field. I am now swallowing an inhaled steroid (Pulmicort Respules) twice a day and taking Singulair once a day for the EE. I am also taking Zantac twice a day and Prilosec once a day for the LPR. So far no change in my symptoms. The cough is almost constant, and I have episodes during coughing where I cannot breathe.

Does anyone know if there is a connection between LPR and EE?

Thank you.

HI Debbie! So sorry you are going through this. I don't know what to say. Not sure what to say about your diagnoses. All I can say is that I can relate to your problem. I am dealing with this too. Hang in there!
