Lowering blocks, yes or no?

I have heard pros and cons about lowering blocks vs. shorter shocks. Who has tried them, and if you did and they worked out ok for you, what brand. This would be for my 05 Road King, solo riding only. Thanks in advance.
 
like them for the most part,really didnt want to spend$$ to replace my stock. 29 bucks online. str8r something or nother is what there called i think...looked up bolt streangth markings on this kit and they were high streangth so used the bolts,,,what do I know?

lowered 1 inch to make up for some new front suspention that unexpectidly lowered the front some...

bottom out at 1 inch a little with 2 up but running 30 psi fixed that...

I would do it again,happy for now with this setup. next time my bike has its birthday or maybe put some under the chrismass tree will spring for lower shocks who knows
 
i have a set, RUBBED THE SCREW that holds the seat on( under fender) and caused tire damage, this on the middle of three holes lowered( so 2 inches im guessing, THERE FOR SALE BTW LOL $13 +shipping
 
Personally, I don't like them for various reasons, the primary one being the change of shock angle. If you have the funds, I think shorter shocks is a better way to go.
 
I have them and like them. My UC is lowered 1" rear only. Ride is smoother than the shorter SG shocks. I don't have a passenger often, but even with a passenger it rarely bottoms out. The bumps that will bottom it out I can see coming (RR Tracks, road construction). I put my weight on the floorboards (like they teach in riding classes) and glide over them.
 
I have no idea what brand, the dealer installed them (no charge) because he thought I'd like the bike better with them.
I figured I would take them off, just never got around to it.
If I think about it I'll take a look and see if there are any markings on them and maybe post a pic tonight.
 
I put on a set of Pingel lowering blocks over two years ago and have 50,000 miles on them. With Many coast to coast trips. I love them, no problems. I heard people talking about changing the shock angle so I checked mine out and the shock angle changes by a WHOPPING 4 degrees No big deal. Make sure you get STEEL blocks. I've heard of the bolt holes stripping out of the aluminum ones.
