lowered C50

Hello, im a newbe to this site. Got my first "cruiser" (C50) in January after many "crotch rockets". I love this bike. I saw an ad recently for a kit to lower the bike. Anyone done this and if so, how do you like it. Thanks

This is a popular mod. My GF had her's lowered two inches. It looked cool, and made it easier for her to ride it with her short legs. There was of course a lack of ground clearance, so she scrapped up the floorboards a lot more. She absolutely loved the bike, but after a year or so stepped up to an Intruder 1400.

I was riding with another girl yesterday who had her's lowered 3 inches. This appears to be too much for these North Georgia mountains, as her exhaust pipes were scrapped all up.

I put the 3" lowering kit on my M50 and love it. I'd never go back. It totally changes the dynamics of the bike. And for 35 bucks, you cant beat it. My dad (5'5") was considering a Shadow VLX until he sat on my lowered M50 and found it to be more comfortable.

I bought my 3 inch lowering kit and went to install it, but ran into mutliple issues with trying to get the bike off the ground without appropriate tools, and then with the tightness of the bolt with little room for clearance. i got the top bolt off, but couldnt free the bottom one. so when i took my bike to the dealer ship for the 600 tune-up, i asked them to slap them on for me.. however, my dealership refused to intall the 3 inch lower kit, because it was far far to dangerous! has anyone with a lowered M50 seriously had any dangerous encounters?..

I sometimes scrape the floorboards a bit in turns so I did the 2" lowering kit and love it. I used a motorcycle jack to lift the bike up a bit and had a friend help and that made it go much easier. Afterwards the bike sat nicely over the rear tire and I think even 2" noticeably changed the look overall. I haven't done it yet but it seems like some people also made some adjustment to the stock settings on their shocks as well. Enjoy!
