I have severe pain in my lower back like middle ways of my lower back but mostly at my spine area, I had a csection and a spinal for the surgery the needle slipped out of place and ever since I've had this pain it's worse while lying down it starts at the bottom of my spine and goes up about middle ways of my spine I have trouble getting out of bed when I have these it's also much worse first in the morning when I first get out of bed.

Hi Marie. How long ago was C section? Have you had an MRI or EMG test done? Are you being treated by any doctor for this right now?

1.how long ago was my c-section it was on 10/19/06 so 151/2 months ago.
2.have I had an MRI or EMG test done, no I have not I have only had x-rays which didnt show anything.I had my OB Dr. that performed my c-section to check it at the hospital and they said I had a knot on my lower back due to me loosing spinal fluid when the needle slipped during my spinal.
3.am I under a doctor's care for this at this time, I go to the doctor a couple of times a month due to the pain sometimes I have to go to the E.R. for treatment it's always treated as a strained muscle and they prescribe pain killers and muscle relaxers which doesnt really help.
any advice on possible causes and treatments would be greatly appreciated. thank you in advance

Marie,
My opinion is that you need to see your GP who can order an MRI. A regular Xray will not show much if there is an issue with your spine. If the MRI is abnormal then your GP can refer you to a spinal- or neuro surgeon. If the muscle relaxers are not helping then my guess is that you have some other process going on. Good luck and keep us posted...we care.
