Lower back pain

Hi there

I am experiencing a sharp back pain in my lower left side of my ribs near my back. Can any one tell me why is this happenning.?

That's an unusual location to have back pain caused by your spine. It could be something like a kidney stone, so I would suggest seeing your doctor ASAP for an evaluation. It also could be nothing or perhaps knotted up muscles, but it's worth getting checked out.
 
Couple of occasions I too experienced " sharp back pain in my lower left side of my ribs near my back " and visited urgent care for treatment.

possible cause:
I think the cause in my case is whenever I work on the laptop lying down - propping my two elbows to type on the laptop keyboard for a long time. I get this rib pain in the back.
