Hello all
This is my first post in this forum so greetings to all.
I am posting this on behalf of my mother who is 53 years old. Firstly, she suffers from multiple of health problems. She had diabetes for over 23 years, she suffers from a high blood pressure and a high cholesterol. (she is overweight and I have tried to change her dietary lifestyle but failed).
About 9 months ago, she was admitted to the A&E for a painful headache. They put her on a Prednisolone Tables of a 12mg. Over the 9 months, it decreased to 4mg today.
About 6 months ago, she woke up with a sever, lower back pain. That pain was shooting down to her right hips and thighs.
About 2 weeks ago, that back pain gradually faded away after the doctor gave her a patch that'd reduce the pain. It replaced that pain with her right ankle being severely swollen.
She got an X-ray and it came out clean. She didn't have any accidents or anything to hurt herself. The doctor is calling it a pinched nerve in the back which is shooting to her leg and feet.
For that 6 months, all she does is lay on the bed unless she is going to the toilet. And even that, the pain is so bad that it takes her about 20minutes to get to the toilet. (The toilet is about 2 meters from her bed.)
We tried putting ice on her ankle, warm water and nothing is helping.
The main problem right now is her right ankle. It is swollen and she can't even put her feet down from the bed.
Any advice would help.
Cheers all
