I have been having severe lower back pains whenever my period is coming. And also when my period is already here. This lower back pain signals me when my period is about to start. Is this normal? This has been recurring whenever I am getting my monthly period. Its a muscle pain in the middle lower part. Not a spinal pain. I only feel relieved when I massage it.

It's normal for you. If that's the only time you have this, then I wouldn't worry. It's just your bodies way of telling you that your menses are abaout to start.

When I used to get my period, I always ached behind my knees. It was so awful that I could hardlly stand it. That was my normal announcement. It varies from woman to woman...and it changes after you have children.
But I think you are just fine:)

BTW try taking some naproxen(aleve) and see if that helps

really?! just like what my doc says its normal for me and this was the so called "PMS". I was just scared there's something wrong with me. Also, my doc mentioned about endometriosis that's causing lower back pain. She does not mean that I have endometriosis but its one sign.
