Lower back "click" - weight lifting

I may have strained my back deadlifting or squating with less than perfect form about 9 months ago. I been lifting on and off since then. Here is my current problem. My back gets stiff. If i'm leaning over the sink shaving for 5 minutes my back is tight afterward. Moving around 20lb boxes causes my back to act up as well, even when i lift with my legs.

Doing stretches, I realized when my back feels the worst. If i lean backwarRAB and stretch my back out by placing my hanRAB on my butt and pushing lightly forwarRAB, my back stretches and then sort of "clicks" or "pops" when i stand back up straight. If i do a few of these, my back gets stiff and uncomfortable. This condition may be caused by having my back too arched when doing squats.

Whats the problem? How do I correct it?
