Hello, I'm 15 and I am almost certain that I have low latent inhibition. It's kind of hard to explain, but for example; if I walk into a room and something has changed since last time I was there, I will always notice this. If I glance around the room, I will notice and process everything.
It also happens with sounds. When I'm on the computer the muffled humming coming from the computer becomes intolerable. Watching television is almost unbearable without the use of headphones to mask the high pitched ringing. The only way I have been able to suppress these "observations" (for lack of a better word) is by listening to music.
Forgot to put this is before; I often have trouble sleeping (only about 5-7 hours sleep every night). Not to sure if that is a result of low latent inhibition though.
So I have a few questions;
- Is there a test for LLI? And if so, do they involve seeing a psychiatrist or a GP? I haven't told anybody about this and I don't really want to.
- Is there any medication to suppress LLI? I often get migraines, which I believe is linked to my LLI (if I indeed do have it, of course).
By the way, sorry if this is the wrong sub-forum, I was unable to find a more suitable heading.
Thanks.
