Hello, I am 33 years old with hypertension, I take Lisinopril 2.5 mg once a day. I have been to 3 cardiologists and had various tests done numerous times. EKG's, echiocardiograms, Ultrasounds, stress tests, blood workups, halter monitors, 3 week halter moniter. Usually my BP while resting is 120-130/80-100, sometimes going as high as 152/106.
All have produced normal results. I have a low pulse while resting even though I am not active at all really around 47-60 beats while resting. lately I have noticed that when I stand I get a little light headed or a rush in my head. I also noticed that while walking at the store or something when i stop and look at something it feels as if the floor gave out beneath me. So i got curious and started doing blood pressure readings while standing. It would be very low even after running up the stairs! Maybe 103/70 upon waking in the morning my BP is about 130/86 while sitting up in bed, but when i stand and take my BP its as low as 98/66. I even take it after walking around and it seems low for me like maybe 103/73 or 106/78 and my pulse will be like 90-120 sometimes upon standing or walking.
Whenever I go to the DR they never can catch it, I mean it may drop a little upon standing or stay around the same from sitting to standing but they never have a cause for concern.
I went for a second opinion and he did not even check my BP while standing and said its just something I need to be prepared for when I stand.
They even took me off my BP med for a few days and now put me back on it.
I was curious about one thing, I had abnormally high blood pressure about 2 weeks ago and I went to the hospital ER and they gave me nitroglycerin to get it down under my tongue. I was curious if this can have certain effects on people that will linger with them also and cause lower BP. Because ever since then my BP seems lower than usual. Just a question I had if anyone else had a adverse effect from the nitro.
Otherwise I have no idea what to do I mean I think i have been feeling light headed upon standing most of my life but this past 2 weeks it seems worse.
Anyone else expieriencing this? Any answers as to what I can do?
