Love Clone High

Sure. It was a fun little series, but in order to have an effective conversation, we need more. Is it the plots? Style? Characters? Voice acting? Why did you love the show?

LOL. Sorry - I'm usually so wordy I figured I'd just keep it simple this time.

I really enjoyed how every episode was an exploration of some cliche teen drama plot, from the death of a random character, to prom and the christmas episode. It's always going to bug me that because of people overreacting to the Gandi character, the series was canned.

Scudworth was so much fun. And Mr Butlertron!!! And Geshi!!!!

Actually one thing i might want to ask is how many people here actually watched the show when it was on TV... cause i know i did not hear of the show until a few years ago, long after its run and it seems rather obscure. While the gandi cotroversy may have helped, from what i can tell the show was not very popular during its original run... afterall if the show really was popular, it would not have been hard to just write chandi out of the show and moved on with a new character to fill his place

Until they decided to start churning out crap like the new Celebrity Deathmatch and Where My Dogs At, I actually looked forward to new cartoons on MTV, and Clone High was no different. The fact that they previewed episodes that never aired bugged me considerably, and I was thrilled when I was able to watch them online three years later and even buy a DVD box set.

Still, we lost the Clone High USA web-site to MTV's 'hiatus', which is a damn shame, as it was full of hilarious anecdotes and behind-the-scenes info for a show that really deserved it.

I didn't know about the website. The bonus features on the series set are really sparse (and bizarre), so can you recall any of the information that was shared there?

I also discovered Clone High after its run had finished. I'm not sure if just getting rid of Gandhi would have solved the problems. The creators explain in a video (that you can find) that because Gandhi appeared in an issue of Maxim, the Indian people were already up in arms over the show without having seen it. Which lead to a protest at MTV India in which a bigwig was trapped in the building by protestors. This kinda soured him on the show.

I definitely think they should reair it here in North America though. The depiction wasn't offensive at all, given that all historical figures are parodied in the series.
