Lounges, bars, chains, hangout in D.C. with comfy couches?

My new beau and I are looking for restaurants or lounges or coffee places in Washington D.C. where we can spend the evening chatting and sitting together. Sitting across from each other just ain't good enough because we are in that new couple phase. We have found Starbucks, Au bon Pain, and Cosi often have couches. Do you have any suggestions of more places with comfy seating? Even if you aren't a local, maybe you know of a similar type chain we may have in DC?
