im 22 and i have about 15 tattoos. I do have the words 'hold fast' tattooed on my knuckles. My dad is a navy sailor of 25 years and i got the 'hold fast' b/c it is an old sailor saying. So i was wondering b/c i cant find any Current info about whether or not i would be able to get a waiver for the knuckle tattoos...I also have a tattoo of California on my forearm with '831' in the middle b/c that is my area code from California that i'm from-i am worried that the 831 might be considered 'gang related' so im considering just filling the outline in with color so you cant see the numbers. Does anyone know what branches are best for getting a waiver for tattoos?? I would really like to join the Navy or the airforce...but i would be open to the army or marines.
next question! I have 2 dogs-both are pitbull mixes-i am NOT willing to part with them. I am aware that there is a ban of pitbulls on military housing but i saw something that said the Navy does not have the pitbull ban-is that true or have all branches banned them on base?? So would i be able to live off base with my dogs?? and how long would i have to be enlisted before i would be eligible for BAH??
Next question i have 2 MINOR THEFT misdamenors on my record from over a year ago. They were the lowest level of thefts-it was like 5-20 dollars. I was 21 when it happend so its on my adult record. I have paid all of the court fines etc. My question is will i still be accepted or will i be DQd because of those misdamenors??
Any information would be greatly appreciated. Im also planning on just calling some recruiters on monday, but would love to hear from anyone who has had experience in this area. thanks!
please dont suggest to me to get rid of my dogs. They have been a part of my life for 2 years and unlike some people who think that animals are disposable things-i actually have a commitment to my dogs. If for some reason i was not allowed to live off base with my dogs-well i would not join. Thank you :]
