I Just Need Help To Get My Phone Working... I Been Reading For Hours But Cant Find Anything Specific To Solve My Problem... Ok... I Bought A Palm Treo 650 Flashed To Cricket... I Went To The Store And Try To Activate It... C Rep Said It Was Goint To Work Ok... I Even Pay For The New Account... The Phone Was Programmed Ok... But He Couldnt Get It To Work... He Said He Needed The Right Nid Nuraber And No One Knew What That Was... The Account Still Active Cause I Still Trying To Get The Phone Working.... Ill Tell You The Steps I Been Doing...
I Go To The #*#000000 Progamming Menu.. I Got The Phone Nuraber... The Min Nuraber (got That From Cricket) I Got The Sid Nuraber(6535) From Cricket C Rep... The Nid Nuraber (65535) From Different People Here At The Forums... Is A Standar Nuraber For All... When I Save All That Info I Got The Activation Complete Message... "congrats You Have Successfully Act. Your Treo... After That The Phone Displays "searching For Network" And When I Dial *228 (or Any Nuraber) Got The "no Service" Message... "your Phone Is Out Of Coverage" I Read About The Prl Nuraber But Dont Know How To Change That... I Also Got The Qpst Software But When I Connect The Usb Cable The Lap Top Doesnt Detect It... Besides The Phone Is Been Flashed Allready....
 
My experience has been it is one of two things when this happens: 1) the esn isn't the same on the phone as what is on the label, 2) bad prl. To solve the first problem, get the esn off the phone. To solve the second one, reload the prl. Follow randomwit's tutorial. It's easy to follow and works like a charm everytime.
 
OK... IM THERE... BUT IF IS CABLELESS LASH WHY DO I HAVE TO USE A PROGRAMMIG CABLE....? AND WHAT THE PROLIFIC DRIVERS ARE...? AND HOW TO DO THE NV BACK UP.....? im sorry for all the cuestions but i dont have exerience in all this... thank you
 
u only need the sd card and the cdma updater and follow randoms directions to update the prl which should hopefully fix ur problem no drivers or cable need its a non computer based flash
 
yes when you ##000000 the esn will at the top. it might an a000000xxxxtheir convert is using a calculator then make sure cricket has that esn nuraber. i had this same problem. and the esn was wrong with cricket.
 
ok... let me tell you the about the instructions i got from the person who i got the phone from... " tell the customer rep the phone is a kyocera kx13 not a treo... give them the esn nuraber from the back of the phone... after changing the esn nuraber dial *228 to program your phone..."
the customer rep didnt see any kyocera kx13 on their kiocera list.... so he used the kyocera s4000.. he try to activate it but never got service... he said it was the home nid #... they just didnt know what that was... he call lots of people but nothing..... hey...! the esn nuraber i got on the top after #*#000000 is different.... it has 8 digits only (nurabers and letters) it doesnt match with the esn nuraber on the back of the phone..... ...????
 
i was comparing the nurabers... the esn nuraber i got on top of the #*#000000 menu is the same on the back of the phone... but not the esn... this one says esn hex.... what do you think...?
 
If the ESN you got from the phones programming menu matches the ESN Hex on the back of the phone then your ESN is correct. It must be the prl. Use randoms guide like you were instructed to try and get he prl on the phone if that doesnt work then most likely you will need to purchase a serial cable from him.
 
yes.. it matches.... the randoms guide confuses me... its supposed to be cableless but asks for wire and bitpim software.... i was told all i need is the sd card and the cdma updater... wich i cant find.... i got the cable to connect the treo to the computer.. usb cable.... well now we now that the esn nuraber is ok....
 
It's not confusing if you knew how to read coherently, because your spelling is incoherent and grammar at that.

The programming cable guide is a little better to use, because you can actually get EVDO off of it. I will be purchasing a cable within the next cpl of weeks myself. So I can freaking get this thing to work cause I know what my problem is.

Now you should be all set...now if it don't work...I have nothing for ya.

IM JUST A PERSON TRYING TO GET HIS PHONE WORKING... DEALING WITH SOMETHING THAT IS NEW FOR ME (PROGRAMS,COMPUTERS,ETC) AND THE WORSE PART.... MY WRITING IN INGLISH IS NOT THE BEST.... BUT I STILL GOT THE RIGHT TO GET HELP FROM HERE... RIGHT....? BTW.... YOU WHERE RIGHT... I WASNT READING THE TUTORIAL ALL THE WAY... AND THE LINK YOU SENT ME IS MAKING EASIER ALL THIS..
