lost rear brakes going down mountain

Buy some Speed Bleeders. They let you flush all the brake fluid out and they won't let air into the brake system. Very inexpensive. Took me less than a half hour to do the job. DOT4 is all you need IMO. Flush every couple of years and you are good to go.

A friends '99 and another's '01 did the same, the dealer that did both ended up just replacing the fluid, said as the fluid ages contaminants and degradation caused it as best he can tell; also said he sees it with DOT 3,4 & 5 fluids so it can't be just a fluke.
