Has anyone else lost their PVR timers over the last few days?

I tried to record a show on saturday night but a message came back saying the maximum number of recordings has been reached. That was a surprise to me so I double checked my timers, and there were none listed. That was an even bigger shock. But at the bottom of the menu it had 45 thousand listed as the total number of timers!?!?

One standard PVR solution later, (power off, remove card, unplug system for 10 minutes, power back on), I was back in business, but minus all of our previous timers. All our recorded events (dating back 18+ months) were still there.

Is this a result of the new software push?

To allow everyone to find specific issues, could I request that, given the large number of PVR types now available, that we all preface our posts with the type of PVR or version of software to which we are referring. In this case I guessed at the software number and do not know the type of PVR based on the post to which I am replying.

Am I correct in assuming that you are referring to the downloads of name based recording software, version E661 for 5xxx PVR's?

If so, in your response could you start your heading with E661?

Had you already downloaded E661? If so, was the loss of timers coincident with downloading the new software?

Still with E661, if you have not downloaded, did the loss occur right after you declined the download?

With previous software versions for 5xxx I have lost timers with new software but generally the loss related more directly to downloading or rejecting the software. Congratulations on not losing recordings!

I urge anyone who has one of these strange events to let BEV know through their Executive Offices in the hope they will pass that info along to their software engineers. [Executive Care Solutions Centre (866) 317-3382]
